AIRBRUSH - Original kit
PAINT - Createx
PRESSURE - 30 - 50 psi
One of my earlier doodles on paper I did of our cat, Gizmo.
I have always been in awe of anyone who is able to create life-like drawings/paintings of hair! There is obviously a real 'art' to it, and a skill I hope one day to possess.
As an airbrush was still pretty new to me and I realised just how fine a line I could get with the airbrushes I had at the time (the 2 airbrushes included in the original kit purchase), I thought I'd give it a go.

I didn't have or use any stencils or templates for this, and I seem to remember it took me about 25 minutes to complete. The lines are a little shaky, and the start and stop positions of the individual hairs aren't as accurate as I wanted, but I had a lot of fun.
A huge learning curve here.
I knew it wouldn't be easy to recreate realistic hair with an airbrush! Anyone looking at this (I am confident) will be able to recognise what the animal is and that it's covered in hair, so for that fact I'm happy with the picture.........In fact I really do love this picture a lot!
The whiskers on his nose and eyes should have been a crisp white but the paint I used was really thin and needed a couple of passes to sit on the black.
I don't know what it is about this picture but the way the hairs have been laid down gives the picture a little energy/life..? (Maybe that's just me?)
